IV93153: BIRT LOGGING NO LONGER WORKS AFTER TADDM 7301 CONVERSION TO WEBSPHERE LIBERTY.

Error description

  states;
  
  Set the BIRT_VIEWER_LOG_LEVEL attribute to a different level in
  the $COLLATION_HOME/deploy-tomcat/birt-viewer/WEB-INF/web.xml
  file (7.3.0), or in the
  $COLLATION_HOME/apps/birt-viewer/WEB-INF/web.xml file (7.3.0.1,
  and later). The valid values are: OFF, SEVERE, WARNING, INFO,
  CONFIG, FINE, FINER, FINEST.
  
  However, in 7.3.0.1 the proper place to set DEBUG logging is in
  dist/external/wlp/usr/servers/TADDM/server.xml
  
  Adding the following line to this file will enable FINE logging;
  
  <logging maxFileSize="30" maxFiles="40"
  suppressSensitiveTrace="true"
  traceSpecification="org.eclipse.birt.*=fine"/>
  
  
  The code should be change to add this line with info level
  logging and the publications should be updated to indicate the
  proper place to set it. Once the line is there, changes to the
  level setting appear to be dynamic.
  

Local fix

• Manually update dist/external/wlp/usr/servers/TADDM/server.xml
  
  
  to add this line;
  
  <logging maxFileSize="30" maxFiles="40"
  suppressSensitiveTrace="true"
  traceSpecification="org.eclipse.birt.*=fine"/>
  
  change fine to logging level desired and restart TADDM.
  

Problem summary

• From 7.3.0.1, the proper place to set DEBUG logging is in
  dist/external/wlp/usr/servers/TADDM/server.xml and not
  $COLLATION_HOME/apps/birt-viewer/WEB-INF/web.xml
  Adding the following line to the server.xml file will enable
  FINE logging;
  <logging maxFileSize="30" maxFiles="40"
  suppressSensitiveTrace="true"
  traceSpecification="org.eclipse.birt.*=fine"/>
  This APAR aims to add the above line in the file "server.xml"
  as well as fix the path for 7.3.0.1 and above in point 4 of the
  documentation section:

  BIRT report problems
