IV91028: TRAP IN VIOENT_INIT_LS_TIMER

Subscribe

You can track all active APARs for this component.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When poll_uplink=yes is set, the system will crash with
    the IAR in vioent_init_ls_timer.

Local fix

  • Turning poll_uplink to no avoids the issue until a fix
    can be applied.

Problem summary

  • A compiler option is used with the vioentdd driver to
instrument a number of runtime checks. These checks
are hit regularly by vioent_init_ls_timer(), which is
    executed when poll_uplink=yes.

Problem conclusion

  • For now remove the compiler option to avoid the asserts.
