  ERROR DESCRIPTION:
  
  During Kerberos authentication, a call to
  GSSName.getStringNameType() returns null. The subsequent
  operation on the returned value causes the NullPointerException
  which in turn makes the application fail to work.
  

Problem conclusion

• Issue is the principal name type is not being use while
  retrieving the string name type in some cases.
  
  The fix will use the principal name type if the principal name
  is null.

  JVMs affected : Java 6.0, Java 6.1, Java 7.0, Java 7.1 and Java
  8.0
  
  The fix was delivered for Java 6.0 SR16 FP35, Java 6.1 SR8 FP35,
  Java 7.0 SR9 FP60, Java 7.1 SR3 FP60 and Java 8.0 SR3 FP11
  
  The affected jar is "ibmjgssprovider.jar".
