Error description
When log in as a Spanish user, run a report, enter a Spanish alphabetic character containing a tilde or accent as a filter, and hit <enter>, the Spanish character that was entered is replaced by unexpected special characters and no match on the Spanish alphabetic character is made. This problem was not present in 3.4.1.2, but has appeared in 3.4.2.4.
Local fix
For Liberty edit the tririga/wlp/etc/jvm.options add -Dclient.encoding.override=UTF-8 To the line after -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 For full traditional WAS The JVM option is in the WAS Admin Console. Go to Application servers > server1 > Process definition > Additional Properties > Java Virtual Machine Add -Dclient.encoding.override=UTF-8 to the end of the Generic JVM arguments For WebLogic, edit the weblogic startup command script, find the Java Options section, and add -Dclient.encoding.override=UTF-8
Problem summary
Need to add logic filter to encode filter value to UTF-8.
Problem conclusion
Fixed a regression in where multi-characters are no longer working as runtime filters in the report. This is targeted to the 2h2016 release as well as the 3.5.1.1 and 3.4.2.5 fix packs.
