APAR status

Error description

  • Ganesha tcp buffers support:
Ganesha was using static and configurable tcp buffer
size.
The effect was inability to utilize high latency links.
The solution was to remove the definition of the static
buffer size - thus letting Ganesha use the OS tcp
autotuning feature ( based on the values in sysctl).

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • Most systems ship with tcp auto tuning configuration
setup correctly. Ganesha doesn't make use of this config.
Instead uses a different network tunables which must be
tuned to work optimally.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Avoid statically setting socket buffer size option.
