Error description

  • Need to be able to export contacts from Secure Mail to the
native contacts of mobile phones. One of the reason is they
need to be able from their car, when connected in Bluetooth, to
see names of callers and be able to select a colleague and call
him. It works fine on iOS and Android, except on Samsung S6 and
S7 running Android 6.0.1. They have found on those device a
workaround by clicking in the workplace policy on the
additional setting "Allow editing of Personal Exchange Contacts
in native Contacts App" but this is not acceptable as when you
do so contacts are exported to a Google account, which is not
    compliant with their policies.

Cause: The contact group created by MaaS360 was invisible by
    default.
This didn't matter in the phone's contacts app or before
    Android 6.0
but starting with 6.0 the bluetooth sync code checks that flag
and doesn't send over invisible groups.

Fix: Make contact group visible by default.

    WORKAROUND:
the end user can try the following:

        Open the contacts app
Click "More" in the upper right corner
        Click "Settings"
        Click "Contacts to display"
Under MaaS360, ensure that "Corporate Contacts" is selected.
        Click "Done"

Test: Enroll PIM on an Android 6.0 device. Verify the contact
group is visible by default by going to

Nexus 5/5P/6X: Contacts > Contacts to display > Customize >
    MaaS360

Samsung S6/S7: Contacts > MORE > Settings > Contacts to display
    > press gear by "Customize List" > MaaS360

In both cases the checkbox by "Corporate Contacts" should be
    enabled after PIM is configured.

Note: The checkbox is not automatically enabled when you
upgrade PIM because the user may have disabled it and it would
    override the user's choice

Local fix

  • the end user can try the following:

Under MaaS360, ensure that "Corporate Contacts" is selected.
        Click "Done"
