IV82598: MAXIMO ALLOWS BIN TO BIN TRANSFER THROUGH INVENTORY APPLICATION TO A STAGING BIN.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Maximo will allow bin to bin transfer through Inventory
    Application --> Select Action --> Transfer Current Item to an
    INVBALANCE record where STAGINGBIN = 1.
    
    If INVBALANCES.CURBAL is updated on a STAGINGBIN = 1 and the
    STAGED Usage Document is COMPLETE or CANCELLED, the INVBALANCES
    record is deleted with INVBALANCES.CURBAL > 0.
    
    Steps to Reproduce:
    
    1. Go To --> Inventory --> Inventory Usage
    2. Click the "New Inventory Usage" icon.
    3. Input CENTRAL in the "From Storeroom" field.
    4. Input ISSUE in the "Usage Type" field.
    5. Click the "Select Reserved Items" button.
    6. Place a checkmark next to an item such as TEX115 and click
    ok.
    7. Click on the "Change Status" icon.
    8. Set "New Status" to STAGED and click the option "Enter a new
    stage bin number for use by all rows that will be staged" and
    enter TESTSTG in the "Stage Bin:" field and click OK.
    9. Click on the "Detail Menu" button directly to the right of
    the "Item" field under "Usage Lines".
    10. Once in the detail menu, Go To --> Inventory. (Take note of
    the "Current Balance"/"Quantity Available" of the Item in
    Inventory.)
    11. Once in the Inventory application, Select Action -->
    Transfer Current Item
    12. On the "Transfer Current Item" set "Quantity" to 1 (or
    higher)
    13. Input CENTRAL into the "To Storeroom:" field.
    14. Input TESTSTG into the "To Bin:" field. (An error message
    should be displayed here indicating that a staging bin cannot
    be used in this transaction)
    15. Click OK.
    16. Note that on the "Inventory Balance" section on the
    Inventory Record that TESTSTG now has Staged Balance and
    Current Balance.
    17. Click on the "Return" link at the top of the Inventory
    Application to return to Inventory Usage.
    18. Once back in Inventory Usage, click on the "Change Status"
    icon.
    19. Change the status to COMPLETE. Click OK.
    20. Click on the "Detail Menu" button directly to the right of
    the "Item" field under "Usage Lines"
    21. Once in the detail menu, Go To --> Inventory.
    22. Once back in the Inventory Application, you will now see
    that the Inventory Balance record has been deleted.
    
    When INVBALANCES.STAGINGBIN = 1, INVBALANCES.CURBAL should not
    be allowed to be updated.  Error message should be reflected
    and consistent with Inventory Usage stating the Bin Selected is
    a Staging Bin when trying to transfer the item to the Staging
    Bin.
