      * Systems running the AIX 7200-00 Technology Level
      * with bos.rte.libc at the 7.2.0.0 level.

      * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
      * This problem will only be seen if Network Information
      * Services (NIS) is being used for authentication.
      *
      * When using NIS authentication, applications using
      * getpwuid() or similar functions may core dump.
      * We have seen this affect cron, java, and db2, to name a few.

      * RECOMMENDATION:
      * Install APAR IV82224.
      * Prior to fix availability, an interim fix is available from
      * either
      * ftp://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/ifixes/iv82224/
      * https://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/ifixes/iv82224/
      * The ifix can be installed using Live Update (LU).
      * If LU is not used, installation of the ifix requires a
      * reboot.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem is fixed by cleaning up freed pointers and calling
    the correct delete function for the rec structures.
