Local fix
Problem summary
If no. of elements in treemap is (n*64) +1 , then accessing subMap with startKey as greater than last but one element and endKey as last element, then the expected output is an empty treemap whereas the current implementation returns the last element. For example: Treemap with 65 elements: {1=1, 4=4, 9=9, .., 256=256, 259=259} TreeMap.subMap(258, 259) Expected Output: {} Actual Output: {259=259} This is specific to Java 6 and 6.1
Problem conclusion
The JDK has been updated to exclude the endKey from the result of java.util.TreeMap.subMap() . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 6 SR16 FP25 (6.0.16.25) 6 R1 SR8 FP25 (6.1.8.25) . Contact your IBM Product's Service Team for these Service Refreshes and Fix Packs.
