Problem summary

  • Operations which modify a MethodHandle chain, such as triggering
a SwitchPoint or changing a MutableCallSite's target, may in
rare conditions cause the JVM to hang.  This primarily occurs
when a MethodHandles#constant() MethodHandle changes from true
to false (or vice versa).

Problem conclusion

  • The JVM has been modified and MethodHandle implementation is
fixed.
