Error description

  • IV65616 added RHEL7 support for regular components, but
    neglected to cover System Monitor Agents (SMA).
    

Local fix

  • Edit line 108 of silentInstall.sh and change it from this:
    
    
    ver=$(uname -r | cut -f1 -d.)$(uname -r | cut -f2 -d.)
    
    To this:
    
    ver=$(uname -r | cut -f1 -d.)$(uname -r | cut -f2 -d. | cut
    -c1)
    

Problem summary

  • RHEL7 support for System Monitor Agents (SMA).
    
    
    IV65616 added RHEL7 support for regular components in
    6.30.03.00.  That APAR neglected to cover System Monitor Agents
    (SMA).
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code was changed to tolerate RHEL7.
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:
