APAR status

Error description

  • Error Message: For the character sequence "\uACB0\uC810", the
API String.getBytes(String charsetName) produces following
incorrect byte sequence with the charset ISO-2022-KR.

Expected byte sequence is as follows:
1b 24 29 43 0e 30 61 41 21 0f

Local fix

  • NA

Problem summary

  • The problem occurred because the encoder of ISO-2022-KR charset
sets the position of buffer incorrectly while encoding the
string.

Problem conclusion

  • JDK is updated to set the buffer position correctly during
encoding process.

This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   8    SR2 FP10  (8.0.2.10)
