IV76034: WMQ 7.1 RECEIVER CHANNEL GOES TO STOPPED STATE AFTER RESTARTING THE QUEUE MANAGER

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After restarting the queue manager with WebSphere MQ 7.1, the
  sender channel fails to start because the receiver side is in
  STOPPED state. In the trace file, there is mismatch on MQ sync
  version.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The queue manager checks and restores channel status during
  startup. During restore process the queue manager converts the
  channel sync record to the current sync version if the sync
  record version does not match with the current version. However
  in this case the sync record was not initialized correctly,
  which caused incorrect sync record conversion, and this resulted
  in an incorrect channel state.
  

Problem conclusion

• MQ has been modified to correctly initialize the channel sync
  record.
  
  The code change for this MQ v7.1 APAR is a port of MQ v7.5 APAR
  IT06207.
