IV75746: QUEUE MANAGER FAILS TO START WITH FDC AT098020 AFTER NORMAL OR ABNORMAL SHUTDOWN

Error description

  • When attempting to restart a queue manager, after stopping the
    queue manager it fails to restart.
    FFST records with the following pattern are created.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Queue managers ended normally or abnormally when transactions
    are active are affected by this problem.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When replaying log records during startup the queue manager
    detected two end-transaction log records for the same
    transaction.
    When the second one was replayed the queue manager flagged it as
    an error and the restart failed. While this scenario is not
    expected during normal MQ operation, this response was
    incorrect, as the queue manager should be able to tolerate this
    condition and continue with the restart.
    

Problem conclusion

  • MQ has been modified to tolerate two end-transaction log records
    for the same transaction so that the queue manager will not fail
    during restart.
    An informational FDC with Probe Id AT098010 from
    atmReinstateTransaction will be generated when processing the
    second transaction log record.
