IV74647: INCORRECT ERROR MESSAGE WHEN GL DEBIT ACCOUNT FIELD IS NULL IN ADDITION TO A REQUIRED FIELD HAVING A NULL VALUE

 

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In Issues and Transfers, when there is a null value for the
    required field, Transaction Type, and when there is a null
    value in the GL Debit Account field, an incorrect error message
    appears.  The expected error message, that appears when a
    required field is null is, "BMXAA419E - Avalue is required for
    the Transaction Type field."
    
    Steps To Reproduce:
    -Log in to maxdemo instance as wilson
    -Go To Inventory | Issues and Transfers
    -In the Location field enter "central" and press Enter
    -Click CENTRAL
    -On the Issue tab click the New Row button
    -In the Item field | Detail Menu | Select Value | click 0-0031
    and tab out
    -Remove the value from the Transaction Type field
    -Remove the value from the GL Debit Account field
    -Click the Save button on the toolbar
    -System Message appears,
    "BMXAA4214E - An unknown error has occurred.
     Please contact your system administrator for assistance.
    Gather the
     logs from the <HOME> directory and determine where and why the
     error is thrown."

Local fix

  • The User can re-enter the value in the Transaction Type field
