APAR status

  • Error Message: N/A

Stack Trace:

The application computes incorrect results.  Symptoms can vary
widely.

Local fix

  • The only workaround is to disable JIT compilation of the
problematic methods, which would degrade the performance of
those methods.

Problem summary

  • Certain unusual sequences of Java bytecode (not generated by
javac) could manipulate the operand stack in a manner that would
cause the JIT compiler to produce invalid code that would
overwrite operand values too early, before they are consumed.

Problem conclusion

  • The JIT compiler has been modified to fix its tracking of the
lifetimes of operand stack values.
