• Error Message: Errors may include SIGSEGV/GPF, assertions, or
  incorrect output or behaviour. This problem only affects PowerPC
  platforms. This problem will likely only be seen in Java 8, or
  Java 6.1, Java 7, and Java 7.1 only when using the balanced or
  metronome GC policies.

Local fix

• This issue can be worked around by disabling the JIT compiler
  via the -Xint option. Disabling the JIT compiler will have a
  major impact on performance.
  

Problem summary

• Certain very large methods that require the JIT compiler to emit
  a large number of machine instructions may result in incorrect
  code being generated. This problem only affects PowerPC
  platforms. This problem will likely only be seen in Java 8, or
  Java 6.1, Java 7, and Java 7.1 only when using the balanced or
  metronome GC policies.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT has been fixed to generate correct code when a large
  number of machine instructions has been emitted.
