Error description
Error Message: JVMSHRC735I Use a 32-bit JVM to perform the requested operation on the 32-bit shared cache <cache name> as the 64-bit JVM cannot verify that the shared memory was created by the JVM . Stack Trace: N/A .
Local fix
Use a 31-bit JVM to destroy the shared class cache created by a 31-bit JVM.
Problem summary
This problem occurs on z/OS when a 64-bit JVM attempts to destroy a shared class cache created by a 31-bit JVM. In such case, the JVM fails to verify that the associated shared memory was created by a JVM of another addressing mode, causing it to exit without destroying the cache.
Problem conclusion
JVM has been updated such that a 64-bit JVM can now recognize and verify that the shared memory associated with a shared class cache was created by a 31-bit JVM. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR1 FP10 (8.0.1.10) 7 R1 SR3 FP10 (7.1.3.10) 7 SR9 FP 10 (7.0.9.10) 6 R1 SR8 FP7 (6.1.8.7) 6 SR16 FP15 (6.0.16.15) .
