Error description

  • In CAA environment, after PowerHA services are stopped and a
"shutdown" is done of the AIX OS on the node(s), the tiebreaker
release is not being issued.  As result the new ConfigRM group
leader node will fail to reserve the tiebreaker.
This will lead to node reboots.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • In a CAA environment, IBM.ConfigRM is not releasing the
TieBreaker disk during a graceful shutdown, which prevents
other nodes from obtaining it when necessary.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • ConfigRM will now attempt to release the TB disk during
graceful shutdown.
