Error description
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION The Inventory field Last Issue Date is updated with the Actual Date (Date when the item is reserved/WO is approved) instead of the Transaction date. In Maximo 7.5 the actual date is the date the Item was reserved on the work order and it can be reserved several weeks in advance. When the Item later is issued from the storeroom the inventory Last Issue Date is updated with the reservation date NOT the real date for Issuing the item form the storeroom. REPRODUCTION STEPS first scenario: 1. TEST 1 Org setting for EAGLENA ? Inventory Defaults - Automatically create usage documents for new reservations = YES 2. Create a new Workorder 3. Add Material on the PLANS tab via go to Inventory and choose 1 PCS of XMP-3500 from Central in my system the item has Last issue Date = 2014-10-27 10:22 4. Return with Value to WO 5. Approve WO 6. Check the Status Date on WO 7. Wait a few minutes before going to next step. 8. Go to Inventory Usage application and open the record crerated for the WO reservation. 9. Open detail view on the INVUSELINE. From the Item Field go to Inventory and check the Last Issue Date: 10. Return to the inventory usage record. And COMPLETE the ISSUE. Status changes to COMPLETE. 11. Go to Inventory and open Item XMP-3500 in Central storeroom. 12. Check Last issue Date that should be the date & time when the issue is COMPLETE from Inventory. But you will see that the date & time is according to when the WO reservation is created. 13. Also View Inventory Transactions for the item. second scenario: 1. TEST 2 Org setting for EAGLENA ? Inventory Defaults - Automatically create usage documents for new reservations = NO 2. Create a new Work order 3. Add Material on the PLANS tab via go to Inventory and choose 1 PCS of XMP-3500 from Central in my system the item has Last issue Date = 2014-10-27 10:02 (from previous test.) 4. Return with Value to WO 5. Approve WO 6. Check the Status Date on WO 7. Wait a few minutes before going to next step. 8. Go to Issues & Transfers application and open Location CENTRAL 9. Select Reserved items and search for Item XMP-3500 and the corrolating WO NUM. 10. Mark the Item in the list and select OK 11. Open the Issue detail view. From the Item Field go to Inventory and check the Last Issue Date: 12. Return to the Issue & Transfer record. And Save the ISSUE. The Issue is now complete. 13. Go to Inventory and open Item XMP-3500 in Central storeroom. 14. Check Last issue Date that should be the date & time when the issue is COMPLETE from Inventory. And you will see that the date & time is correct when issuing from Issues & transfers. Also View Inventory Transactions for the item. CONCLUSION When using the option to automatically Create Inventory Usage Documents the Actual date is not updated correctly when Issuing items from inventory Usage. Actual Date is copied over to the Fiels Last issue Date in the Inventory. And as it is now this is misleading as it is the timestamp when the Item was reserved on the actual WO.
