  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: The JVM may hang after replacing a class using
JVMTI RedefineClasses or RetransformClasses.

Stack Trace: N/A
.

Local fix

  • Running without the JIT (using the -Xint option on the command
line) will avoid this situation.

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused by an interaction between the class
replacement code and the JIT.

Problem conclusion

  • The JVM has been updated to avoid this situation.

   7    SR8       (7.0.8.0)
   6 R1 SR8 FP2   (6.1.8.2)
