Error description
Running giad may result in a file named /dev/NULL being created and data appeneded to it. This will happen only if supplemental media tape or CD are used to load diagnose routines.
Local fix
Get the major, minor device number for /dev/null: # ls -la /dev/null crw-rw-rw- 1 root system 2, 2 May 20 00:21 /dev/null and create a device /dev/NULL # rm /dev/NULL # mknod /dev/NULL c 2 2 # chmod 666 /dev/NULL
