Error description
Error Message: A Java application, based on either side of a client-server architecture, that is involved in socket communication, may see a large number of unexpected occurrences of java.net.SocketException. . Stack Trace: java.net.SocketException: A system call received a parameter that is not valid.java.net.SocketInputStream.socketRead0(Native Method) java.net.SocketInputStream.read(SocketInputStream.java:163) java.net.SocketInputStream.read(SocketInputStream.java:133)...(o ther application methods)... . This problem starts occurring with Java 7 SR7 or Java 7.1 SR1 and isn't seen on service refreshes previous to these.
Local fix
Problem summary
The problem is caused when a system call on a socket fails and we are trying to dump the socket information through a trace point.
Problem conclusion
The java.net package has been updated to enable the dumping of information on a failed socket. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 7 SR8 (7.0.8.0) 7 R1 SR2 (7.1.2.0) . Contact your IBM Product's Service Team for these Service Refreshes and Fix Packs. For those running stand-alone, Java maintenance is available from: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/
