APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The snmpd daemon dumps core while querying
the shared Ethernet adapter.  The snmpd
debug log file has the error messages

EXCEPTIONS: get_rcvtable: ioctl on device
ent #n failed with errno = 64
EXCEPTIONS: o_rcvtable: device data and/or
device info are NULL

  • snmpinfo -m dump -v ifExtnsRcvAddrEntry can cause core dump
with the following stack :  (dbx) where

Problem conclusion


    

  • Have fixed the snmpd code so that if query fails, the
error will be properly handled.
