APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When trying to define ERS, it may fail with the
following message:
  ERROR: Unable to change Runtime policy for
         <SCS Res.Group name>
The problem can only occur if the SCS Resource Group
is already ONLINE when defining ERS.

Local fix

  • Bring offline the SCS Resource Group and try to
define again ERS.

Problem summary

  • Addition of ERS fails if SCS is online,prints improper message

Problem conclusion

  • added precheck for RG status of SCS before proceeding to change
RG properties of SCS
