APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a Monitor Method script has arguments defined (for
    ex: /scripts/monitor.sh dbname appname), changing the
    corresponding application monitor with clmgr fails:
     # clmgr modify application_monitor monitor_name
          MONITORINTERVAL=80
     clchappmon failure:  The parameter "" is not supported
     clchappmon failure:  The parameter "" is not supported
     clchappmon exiting because of errors.  The ODM is
       unchanged
       NOTE: the "" characters are 2 double quotes.
    

Local fix

  • Use SMIT rather than clmgr.
    

Problem summary

  • While modifying application_monitor with clmgr, following error
    comes:
    clmgr modify application_monitor MyAppServer
    MONITORINTERVAL="10"
    
    clchappmon failure:  The parameter "" is not supported.
    clchappmon failure:  The parameter "" is not supported.
    clchappmon failure:  The parameter "" is not supported.
    clchappmon exiting because of errors.  The ODM is unchanged.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Handled the variable to take value as a whole
