APAR status

Error description

  • Error Message: JRuby programs can see a NullPointerException
thrown from
org.jruby.runtime.invokedynamic.InvokeDynamicSupport.fail.
Other programs using the java.lang.invoke.MutableCallSite class
can see other symptoms.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • There was a race condition between threads calling
MutableCallSite.setTarget and other threads executing code that
uses the same MutableCallSite object.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   7 R1 SR1       (7.1.1.0)
.
The JCL has been modified to eliminate the race condition.
