Error description
If ending the queue manager with the option "-i" when the channel is running, the channel status is "STOPPED" after restarting the queue manager. WebSphere MQ fails to save the channel status. From the trace, the function rriSaveChannelStatus fails. =========== RSESS:000001 ----{ MQOPEN RSESS:000001 -----}! zstMQOPEN rc=MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN RSESS:000001 ----}! Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Users running on MQ 7.0, MQ 7.1 and MQ 7.5 using channels may face this issue. Platforms affected: MultiPlatform **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: On a channel if we issue start channel after stop channel before the stop channel thread has completed its processing, the start channel status will not be saved. Hence when the queue manager is restarted the channel moves into STOPPED state rather than INACTIVE state as the channel status was saved during start channel.
Problem conclusion
The code changes made will call the save channel status function to make sure that the start channel status has been saved when the start channel command is issued. This channel status will be remembered during the next restart of the queue manager. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v7.0 7.0.1.13 v7.1 7.1.0.5 v7.5 7.5.0.4 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
