IV51407: WORK ORDER GL ACCOUNT IS CLEARED UP WHILE TRYING TO ACCEPT NEW GL ACCOUNT FROM A LOCATION BEING SET TO THIS WORK ORDER

 

APAR status

Error description

  • Steps to replicate the issue in Maxdemo database:
    
    - Go to Locations application
    
    - Create a new Location record as the following:
    Location = LOC10
    Type = OPERATING
    GL Account = 6000-200-000
    
    - Go to Assets application
    
    - Create a new Asset record as the following:
    Asset = ASSET10
    Location = LOC10
    
    - Save and change Status to OPERATING
    
    - Go to Work Order Tracking application
    
    - Create a new Work Order record associated to GL Account
    6000-200-200 and save
    
    - In the Asset field, type ASSET10 and hit tab key
    
    - Click on the question icon
    
    - Reply Yes to question below:
    You entered: ASSET10
    The location and asset combination you have entered would
    default a different GL account than is currently specified on
    the work order. Would you like to update the work orders GL
    account based on the new asset/location combination? Clicking
    Cancel will return you with no changes. (BMXAA4510)
    
    The issue is:
    At this point, system clears up the Work Order GL Account field.
    
    Note: The same problem happens even if both Work Order and
    Location have got the same GL Account.
