Local fix
-Xjit:forceSMP forces the JIT to always generate code assuming a multiprocessor machine. -Xtune:elastic (available starting with Java7 SR4) turns on JVM function that accommodates changes in the machine configuration dynamically at run time.
Problem summary
When the JIT compiler detects that is running on a uniprocessor machine it may generate native code that is tailored to such an environment, but not necessarily correct in an multiprocessor environment. This can create functional problems if the number of processors is allowed to change at runtime (without JVM restart) from one CPU to several CPUs.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 7.0.0 SR6 6.0.1 SR7 . The JIT compiler was changed to always generate code for multiprocessor environments.
Temporary fix
