APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A WebSphere MQ application or a SVRCONN channel thread in an
amqrmppa process might suffer a memory exception (example:
    SIGSEGV).

FDC records might be written with probe XC130003 or XC130031.

The MQM Function Stack might contain:

    zstAsyncConsumeThread
    zstAsyncConsume
    vpiConvertData
    vwaConvert
    vwb_rf_header_2
    xcsFFST

Local fix

  • Set SHARECNV(0) on the SVRCONN channel definition.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of the WebSphere MQ asynchronous consume function, where
consumer functions have been registered with the MQGMO_CONVERT
option, and in which MQRFH2 data blocks are in use by the
    applications.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The queue manager was returning an incorrect data length to the
WebSphere MQ code running in the application process. This
code then used this length to try to read more bytes than were
actually readable. This then caused the memory exception to
    occur.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ product code has been corrected to ensure the
length passed back by the queue manager to the application is
    correct.
