A deadlock on the ctira_log_lock occurs if the open to the log
fails as the error path does not do an unlock.

RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
Agent has to have RPC errors occurring which causes a ctira log
entry to be create and the log file has to fail to open.  This
introduces a deadlock in the code.

Problem summary


    

  • Deadlock in CTIRA_INSERT_LOG on failed open request. When the
error path is taken on an open request on a file, the CTIRA lock
 request is not released. This causes threads to lock up over
time waiting for the release of the lock.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Moved the lock release after the error path in the code.
