APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Symptom:
    UDP traffic with zero length as the payload will not be
    responded to from the receiving end.

    IPtrace will show the packet is received on the receiving
    end but not responded to.

    If truss is run:
    truss <application>

    It will show program stops at and never proceeds
    _enrecvfrom()

    If another UDP packet of zero length is sent, the program
    proceeds past _enrecvfrom().

Local fix

  • Send data packets with at least 1 byte of payload.
