  • On AIX7.1 TL02 SP02, the IBM-943 uconvTable includes the
incorrect character mapping, the affected characters are:

Local fix

  • Edit /usr/lib/nls/loc/uconvTable/IBM-943.ucmap file and
remake IBM-943 with below command:
# uconvdef -f IBM-943.ucmap IBM-943

Problem summary

  • Some characters in Ja_JP/ja_JP can't be handled correctly.

Problem conclusion

  • Need to update locale DB files.
