Error description
. Problem description We have assets in the system with the SERVICE attribute, however, the attribute SERVICE does NOT already exist on the classification referenced by the asset. The SERVICE was added to the asset but NOT the classification. The SERVICE attribute has a domain from where the values are pulled. However, the domain values do not show up on the Select Value screen when in the Asset application. In order for the domain values to show up on the Select Value screen, we need to associate the SERVICE attribute with the Servers classification. However, when attempting to do so, we receive an error message. Steps to Replicate Go to Assets application and recall ASSET=61002, click on the Specifications tab NOTE: 5 attributes already exist Click New Row to add a new attribute In field Attribute=STAGE, tab out and Save Go to System Configuration>Platform Configuration>Domains Click on button Add New Domain>Add New ALN Domain In ALN Domain dialog box, Domain=DMAIN, Description=Test, Length=50 Enter three values using the New Row Button Value=test1, Description=Test 1 Value=test2, Description=Test 2 Value=test3, Description=Test 3 Click OK on the ALN Domain dialog box Go to Administration>Classifications Recall record TTAXLE on the List tab and select it Go to Select Action>Add/Modify Properties>Attributes Filter for attribute STAGE On field Domain use the magnifying glass and filter and select domain DMAIN Click OK on the Attributes dialog box Still on the TTAXLE record, scroll down to the Attributes data area and hit the New Row button Enter Attribute=STAGE and tab out NOTE the Domain and Data Type fields are filled correctly Click on the Save RESULT: Error Message is thrown BMXAA4129E - Record already exists for Attribute=STAGE, Asset=61002, Section=, Site=BEDFORD, Linear Specification Id=0.
