Local fix

  • Remove the?-Xlockword:nolockword=<class> option from the
    affected classes.
    

Problem summary

  • Using the -Xlockword:nolockword=<class> option with classes that
    have long/double fields may cause misalignment of the
    long/double fields, causing loads and stores to these fields to
    not be atomic, which can result in undefined behavior.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    7.0.0 SR5
    6.0.1 SR6
    .
    The JVM is fixed so the fields are properly aligned in all
    cases.
