IV42982: PROBLEM CHANGING A PASSWORD ON A KEYSTORE WITH JAVA CMSPROVIDER

  We've found a problem in iKeyman and the cmsprovider that will
  effect:
  CMS Provider 1.36 (ikeyman 8.0.373) shipped with IBM JDK
  6.0sr12, 6.26sr4 and 7.0sr3
  CMS Provider 2.4 (ikeyman 8.0.375) shipped with IBM JDK 6.0sr14,
  6.26sr6 and 7.0sr5
  The issue is that when a user changes the password on a cms
  keystore  all the "Signer Certificates" will lost. It doesn't
  affect the "Personal Certificates"and "Certificate Requests" but
  all trust anchors will be gone.
  

Local fix

• 1. For ikeycmd
     a) Convert the existing keystore to a new filename and the
  same type as it already is:
           >ikeycmd -keydb -convert -db key.kdb -pw 111 -target
  temp.kdb -new_format cms -new_pw 222
     b) Then rename the temporary keystore back to the old name.
  2. For the ikeyman gui the same can be achieved using the "Save
  As" operation.
  

Problem summary

• For ikeyman the following issues are fixed:
  b6023   ikeycmd & gskcapicmd should work the same with -populate
  b6083   Problem changing a password on a keystore with Java
  CMSProvider
  b6088   "save as" to same / replace the original keystore with
  different password with ikeyman 8 GUI gets wrong password error.
  - CMS provider 2.42 it fixes following issue:
  b6083   Problem changing a password on a keystore with Java
  CMSProvider
  

Problem conclusion

• This defect will be fixed in:
  6.0.0 SR14
  6.0.1 SR6
  7.0.0 SR5
  .
  Update to ikeyman 8.0.378 and CMS provider 2.42
