Error description

  • Booting from a DS8K Disk using AIX PCM may fail due to stale
CuData entries left by multiple mksysb backup and restore
operations.  If 2 or more mksysb backup and restore operations
have been done on the same system without a new/clean install
this can result in too many stale CuData entries existing
causing boot to fail.

Problem summary

causing boot to fail.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • cfgmgr will detect when unexpected/stale CuData entries exist
for a disk with it is being defined for the first time, and
remove those stale ODM entries.
