Error description

  • Using WebSphere MQ to run the amqoamd command to generate
output in the setmqaut format using wildcard characters
generates statements in an incorrect format when run on Unix
platforms. Quotes are not inserted around the name when using
    wildcards.

    Ex:
    amqoamd -t q -n '**' -s -m QMG

    returns:
    setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n ** -t queue -g users +dsp
    setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n ** -t queue -g users +crt
    setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n ** -t queue -g mqm +crt

The manual states that you must enclose the profile name in
    quotes if using wildcard characters.

The output should should look like this:
    setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n '**' -t queue -g users +dsp
    setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n '**' -t queue -g users +crt
    setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n '**' -t queue -g mqm +crt

Local fix

  • Using WebSphere MQ (WMQ) v7 to run the amqoamd command to

    the name when using wildcards.

    Ex:

     setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n ** -t queue -g users +crt
     setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n ** -t queue -g mqm +crt

     setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n '**' -t queue -g users +crt
     setmqaut -m QMGR1 -n '**' -t queue -g mqm +crt
