Error description

  • Under certain circumstances, when running the ftp "ls"
command, the AIX ftpd daemon may receive an errno 127
EOVERFLOW error when accessing a 64-bit filesytem.

The error can be seen in truss output as "Err#127
EOVERFLOW" after a filesystem call such as opendir(),
readdir() or closedir() is made.

Problem summary


    

  • ls command from ftp client does not return results while
accessing filesystem mounted on ftp server over NFSV4 from z/OS
NFS server.

  • Minor code changes required in ftp daemon to access file
system mounted over NFSV4.
