Error description
The customer experienced high amount of CPU when starting up one of their channel initiator address space . The high CPU is caused by duplicate messages on the SYSTEM.HIERARCHY.STATE queue. . 29BE54B0 C5D44BC2 D9D6D2C5 D94BD7D9 C9D4C1D9 |EM.BROKER.PRIMAR| 29BE54C0 E84BE2E3 C1E3C500 6CA20000 E2E8E2E3 |Y.STATE.%s..SYST| 29BE54D0 C5D44BC8 C9C5D9C1 D9C3C8E8 4BE2E3C1 |EM.HIERARCHY.STA| 29BE54E0 E3C54040 40404040 40404040 40404040 |TE | . 29BE54C0 E84BE2E3 C1E3C500 6CA20000 E2E8E2E3 |Y.STATE.%s..SYST| 29BE54D0 C5D44BC8 C9C5D9C1 D9C3C8E8 4BE2E3C1 |EM.HIERARCHY.STA| 29BE54E0 E3C54040 40404040 40404040 40404040 |TE | 29BE54F0 40404040 40404040 40404040 00000000 | ....| .

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Any users making use of channels, and a publish subscribe hierarchy Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: A duplicate message on an internal control queue caused part of the channel initiator to end prior to normal completion. This resulted in less than the minimum number of expected internal data streams which resulted in a loop in the remaining channel initiator code. The duplicate message on the internal control queue occurred because the return code of an earlier function was not checked before the record was written.
Problem conclusion
The function which placed the duplicate message on the internal control queue will no longer be called if the earlier function failed. This prevents the loop from occurring. The failure of the earlier function is correctly handled by the subsequent code. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.10 -------- -------------------- Windows U200352 AIX U853055 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U853082 HP-UX (Itanium) U853087 Solaris (SPARC) U853083 Solaris (x86-64) U853089 iSeries 7.0.1.10 Linux (x86) U853084 Linux (x86-64) U853088 Linux (zSeries) U853085 Linux (Power) U853086 v7.1 Platform Fix Pack 7.1.0.3 -------- -------------------- Windows 7.1.0.3 AIX 7.1.0.3 HP-UX (Itanium) 7.1.0.3 Solaris (SPARC) 7.1.0.3 Solaris (x86-64) 7.1.0.3 iSeries 7.1.0.3 Linux (x86) 7.1.0.3 Linux (x86-64) 7.1.0.3 Linux (zSeries) 7.1.0.3 Linux (Power) 7.1.0.3 Version v7.5 -------- -------------------- Fix available in: 7.5.0.2 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
