Error description
When attempting to add a correct CHLAUTH record, a queue manager agent process suffers a memory exception (example: SIGSEGV) and ends. Other connected applications using this agent process also end with a variety of errors, most likely MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN. The following FDCs might be seen: XC130004 xehExceptionHandler ZL043050 zlaMainThread xecF_E_UNEXPECTED_RC ZL043105 zlaMainThread STOP ZX005035 zxcProcessChildren zrcX_AGENT_DEAD The xehExceptionHandler FDC will show a call stack similar to this: MQM Function Stack zlaMainThread zlaProcessMessage zlaProcessSPIRequest zlaSPIKernel zsqSPIKernel kpiGeneric kqiSetChlAuthMap rsxSetChlAuthMap rsiStoreChlPrf rsxSerialiseChlPrf xcsFFST On Windows the XC130004 might be XC130031.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Users of CHLAUTH records when many CHLAUTH records are being added. Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: When adding many CHLAUTH records, sometimes it is necessary to re-allocate a memory block to hold more records. It was possible, when performing the re-allocating activity, for the queue manager code not to check that a pointer was null, but still address that pointer as though it was a valid pointer. Thus a memory exception was caused in the queue manager process.
Problem conclusion
The queue manager code has been corrected to check for the value of null in that pointer, and thus avoid addressing it when it is in that state. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.1 Platform Fix Pack 7.1.0.3 -------- -------------------- Windows 7.1.0.3 AIX 7.1.0.3 HP-UX (Itanium) 7.1.0.3 Solaris (SPARC) 7.1.0.3 Solaris (x86-64) 7.1.0.3 iSeries 7.1.0.3 Linux (x86) 7.1.0.3 Linux (x86-64) 7.1.0.3 Linux (zSeries) 7.1.0.3 Linux (Power) 7.1.0.3 Platform v7.5 -------- -------------------- Multiplatforms 7.5.0.1 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
