APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The queue manager fails to start or ends immediately after
    startup with errors AMQ8003 followed by AMQ9409 and AMQ8004 in
    the queue manager error log. FDCs with errors
    MQRC_Q_MGR_NOT_AVAILABLE and rrcE_MQCONN_FAILED might also be
    generated.

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users running MQ applications which attempt to connect in the
    very earliest stages of a queue manager startup (strmqm).
    
    Platforms affected:
    All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    The problem occurs because of a timing window in the queue
    manager startup, during which an application attempting to
    connect may cause removal of a queue manager IPC resource due
    to missing subpool lock instruction when accessing "subpool".
    

Problem conclusion

  • MQ has been modified to add appropriate "subpool" lock
    instruction when accessing the "subpool".
