IV18655: ASSETS GENERATED FROM ASSET TEMPLATES DO NOT RECEIVE THE SYNONYM STATUS FROM THE TEMPLATE

APAR status

Error description

• Steps to Reproduce
  
  Go to Domains application
  Bring up the LOCASSETSTATUS domain
  Click new row
  Internal Value field enter NOT READY
  In the Value field enter RTF
  leave the other fields blank
  Click OK
  Save the changes
  Go to the Asset Template application
  Create a new very basic Asset template
  Change the status to Active
  From action menu select Generate New Assets
  Enter a site and click ok
  You will be presented with Generate New Asset popup window
  Notice that the status field defaults to NOT READY
  Click on the select value and select your newly added synonym
  value of RTF
  Quantity field enter 1 and then click on generate assets button
  In the Assets section you will see asset number and status of
  RTF as well as an installation date
  Notice the status is RTF
  Click Ok
  You will presented with a popup BMXAA8198I - The asset template
  has been applied
  Go to the asset application and bring up the newly created asset
  and the status will be showing NOT READY and not RTF.

Problem conclusion

• The status specified in the asset template is used for assets
