IV18030: GUI SERVERS VERY SLOW TO START WITH LARGE NO OF ROWS IN EVENTS TABLE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When there are a large number of rows in the EVENTS table the
  presentation server can take a long time to start up.
  

Local fix

• Truncate EVENTS Tables and set up Internal Housekeeping to run
  regularly to keep number of rows in EVENTS table reduced.

  * keep the events from the past 7 days by default.             *

Problem conclusion

• The eventpoller.xml file was updated to include a <limit>
  setting which will allow the user to specific a limit on the
  number for events that the system tries to process initially on
  startup.
