  • This feature will add XIV-LUN-0 support.  This is a management
LUN,that will look like a DAC to the driver, but will be used
as an interface to manage the XIV from AIX.

  • This feature will add XIV-LUN-0 support.  This is a management
LUN,that will look like a DAC to the driver, but will be used
as an interface to manage the XIV from AIX.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A new dev_typ of DK_DAC will be created (xivctrl).  The
following limitations will be placed on this device:
1. not required or available during AIX boot
2. not a media device and does not support read/write media
access.
3. not supported as a dump device.

This new device will be configured as MPIO SCSI block device
using the scsidisk device driver.
DK_PASSTHRU and DK_PATHPASSTHRU ioctl interfaces will be
provided.
