Error description

  • Support for rbac domains using LDAP was introduced by
IZ97215 bos.rte.security 7.1.1.0 LDAP for DOMAINS
or IZ97160 U837809 bos.rte.security 6.1.7.0 LDAP for
DOMAINS Customers upgrading from lower levels to these
level won't have the /etc/security/ldap/*aixuser.map
files updated so they won't have the user/domains mapping
entry needed thus:
chuser -R LDAP domains=dom user will fail with :
3004-692 Error changing "domains" to "dom" :
Value is invalid

The comments in the .map files need also to be updated
from the latest level as they explain the .map entry
fields that were updated to add caching options.

Local fix

  • The administrator can edit manually the .map file and add
the line :
domains  SEC_LIST ibm-domains      m    na      yes

Problem summary

  • chuser -R LDAP fails for DOMAINS=DOM

Problem conclusion

  • map files will be updated with domains entry.
