Error description
When creating a userid called User in the Tivoli Enterprise Portal user administration dialog the "Users/Group" tab disables if you then assign any created user to a group. RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS: Create a new user called "user" in TEPS and you add any user to any group then the user and group tag are grey (unselect ).
Local fix
Delete the userid named "user".
Problem summary
The Users and User Groups tabs in the Administer Users dialog become disabled if a user is created with a User ID of 'USER'. If the operator creates a user with a User ID of 'USER', the Users and User Groups tabs on the Administer Users dialog will become disabled whenever the User Groups tab is selected. If the Hub Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server is on a case sensitive system, a User ID of 'USER' will cause the problem but other case variants will be OK. If the Hub is on a case insensitive system like Windows, all case variants of 'USER' will cause the problem. Another symptom is that the Available / Assigned Members trees on the Members tab of the User Groups page may show nested levels of the Users node or may not show it all. The console log will show a stack trace having many lines like: at candle.fw.model.PBasedGraph.isNodeSharedByMultipleGraphs
Problem conclusion
The logic was changed to allow all case variations of the User ID 'USER' to function correctly. The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance packages: | fix pack | 6.2.2-TIV-ITM-FP0008 | fix pack | 6.2.3-TIV-ITM-FP0002
Temporary fix
On case sensitive Hubs, do not create a user with a User ID of 'USER'. On case insensitive Hubs, do not create a user with a User ID of any case variation of 'USER'.
