Error description

  • ITM Unix Log Agent (kulagent) can generate high CPU usage when
applications append a huge number of rows in the monitored log
file in a really short time, the problem is due to the huge
work that agent has to complete in order to evaluate all
appended rows.

In order for this APAR to be properly implemented in your
environment, a new environment variable has been added.  See the
"Install Actions" section of the APAR conclusion for more
details.

Install Actions

In order for this APAR to be properly implemented in your
environment, a new environment variable has been added in order
to permit to the customer to set a short delay in milliseconds
between processing of two consecutive events.  Then new
variable, KUL_DELAY, can be added in the ul.ini file. It accepts
values between 0 and 1000 milliseconds, default is 0:

KUL_DELAY=0-1000


The fix for this APAR is going to be included in the following
maintenance vehicle:
