APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
When compiling template-heavy code, the C++ compiler front end is encountering an internal error with the message: 1540-0505 (S) The build failed and there are no messages. 1540-0527 (I) The build failure may be because of an Internal Compiler Error or because a tool failed to generate a message. The issue appears to be related to the order in which functions are processed by the compiler.
Local fix
You may be able to work around the error by using the options '-qtmplparse=error' or '-qlanglvl=variadictemplates' (even if variadic template are not being used).
Problem summary
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An internal error was generated due to function bodies being processed in the wrong order. USERS AFFECTED: This problem may be seen when implicitly instantiating a template class with many functions.
